Analysis of Thoughts

1. Sit calmly with a pen and paper; close your eyes observe the thoughts running through your mind.

2. After some time note down the thoughts one by one.

3. Classify the thoughts on the basis of the reasons behind them.

4. Analyse whether each thought can harm the self or the others, immediately or later, physically or mentally.

5. If the thought seems beneficial, plan the ways to achieve it.

6. If harmful, erase it from the mind through suitable autosuggestions.

7. Create fresh imprints by generating noble thoughts in the place of the evil ones, erased from the mind.

8. Through repeated efforts and autosuggestions all evil thoughts can be replaced with noble ones.

List out the thoughts.

Classify it according to the reasons.

Analyse whether the outcome will be good or bad.

If good, whether the possibilities of putting it into action exists.

If bad, erase if from the mind through awareness and autosuggestions.

Fill the mind with noble thoughts.

Moralization of Desires

Desires cannot or should not be eradicated totally; they should only be moralised.

1. Spare half an hour for the practice; sit calmly, in solitude with a pen and paper.

2. List out the desires one by one.

3. Analyse each desire on the basis of the following questions:

A) Is the need or desire imperative?

B) Can I manage without it?

C) Do I have the health, wealth and the mental strength to attain it?

D) Will the outcome be good?

E) What are the benefits accruing to me from this ?

4. If the need is exigent, the circumstances right and the consequences also good, the desire may be fulfilled through proper means and planning.

5. If found unnecessary, the reason for it being unnecessary is ascertained, the desire given up and care taken to see that it does not arise again. By doing so the mind becomes strong to purse noble desires alone, paving the way for peace and contentment.

List out the desires.

Is it essential?

Can it be achieved?

Will the outcome be good or bad?

In the answers to the above questions are yes, fulfil it in a proper manner.

If no, erase it from the mind.

Neutralization of Anger

1. Spare half an hour for the practice; sit calmly, in solitude with a pen and paper.

2. Note down the names of the persons who provoke anger in you.

3. List out the persons who provoke anger the most often.

4. “How am I related to him/her?”

5. What are the reasons for the anger and ill will ?

6. Are they alone responsible ? Am I also responsible for this? And to what extent?

7. What have I done to correct this? Could I correct them through anger alone ?

8. Note down the good and bad effects that have been the outcome of your anger.

9. Resolve through repeated autosuggestions to maintain awareness and not become angry with that person again, under any circumstances. Repeat the autosuggestion in the morning and evening for a week.

10.  Try talking to the person with full awareness during this period. Be patient and penitent for a week. Success is certain.

11. This is followed by the other individuals in the list, where success becomes possible even in a single day.

12. When anger becomes imperative to get things done, pretend to be angry; do not let it rule your mind.

13. When anger is eradicated from the mind, vengeance leaves it automatically. When punishment or pardon is meted out, with the welfare of the individual in mind, vengeance disappears. Correct yourself first; it is more important than correcting the others – they will change themselves for the better automatically.

List out the persons who provoke anger.

Practice for a week with the first individual.

How am I related to him? To what extent am I respinsbile for it ?

What was the earlier experience ? Could anger be eradicated ?

Were the after effects of anger good or bad?

Resolve not to get angry with that person.

Be patient when dealing with him. Success is certain.

Continue the practice with the others in the list at the rate of one person a day.

Eradication of Worries

Worries are to be eradicated for they make life miserable.

1. Spare half an hour for the practice; sit calmly, in solitude with a pen and paper.

2. List out the worries one by one.

3. Classify the problems that produce worries on the following basis.

a) Problems that have to be faced: E.g. Chronic diseases, death, loss of wealth etc.

b) Problems that can be kept in abeyance: E.g. Delay in marriage etc.

c) Problems to be ignored: E.g. Difference of opinion, jealous words and deeds from the others etc. (Problems to be attended to immediately, if ignoring them can them escalate the problems).

d) Problems to be solved immediately: E.g. Money problems, need for immediate surgery, division of property etc.

4. Attend to the problems that have to be solved immediately. The others are to be handled accordingly.

5. Care should be taken when sorting the problems. If problems to be solved immediately are ignored, further problems can crop up.

6. There is no need to become emotional and solve the problems in a hurry. Similar problems, arising from ignorance, should however be avoided.

7. Analyse how the earlier worries were overcome.

8. It is not possible to eradicate problems from life or live without problems. Fresh problems crop up all the time in life. Peace and happiness result when problems are solved in a systematic manner. People can live without worrying, but not without having to face any problems in life.

List out the worries one by one.

Sort them into four based on their nature.

Attend to the problems to be solved immediately.

Mounam - Silence

Mounam (Silence), a practice that purifies the mind is to be observed along with meditation and introspection. We are constantly in contact with the outside world through our sensory organs. The imprints produced by the results of all our thoughts, words and deeds, from the time of our birth to date, are contained in our genetic center in the form of charactersed knots.

All these imprints expand into thoughts in our mind during the period of Mounam. Evil thoughts should be eradicated and noble ones retained through regular introspection. Meditation brings down the frequencies of the mind waves to very subtle levels, where the secrets of Nature laid bare before it. Realisation of the Divine State becomes possible.
